With the recent heightened concerns for the trauma, 15 Regional Traumatic Centers have been appointed for 2011-2016 period in Korea. Presently, October 2016, 9 Regional Traumatic Centers are established and performing active education and research for the traumatic medical staffs. With the intense interests, the role of KST (Korean Society of Traumatology) KARPET (Korean Association for Research, Procedures and Education on Trauma) in eliciting continuous focus for the stable establishment of traumatology arose crucial important. KARPET, in order to satisfy the demands and to nourish sustainable environments for the development of traumatology, is publishing a new academic journal. The journal is an official academic journal of TIP (Trauma Image and Procedure) and will gather and include traumatic images and procedures. Anyone who is interested in traumatology, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and staffs from other fields, may submit a paper according to provided format to be published in the journal. For the establishment and maturation of trauma system, fostering environment where every member may communicate and share their knowledge with passionate attitudes is the most urgent work. We hope the publication of TIP fulfills the role in achieving the above goals. Again, we hope the publication of this journal shines light in the traumatology in treating major trauma patients to prevent unfortunate losses due to improper treatments.
